Air duct inlet

In order to transport the air to the brake ventilation outlet, a suitable inlet is essential. The M2 Competition already has inlet ducts in the front bumper ex works, but these end in the middle of the wheel arch. To prevent the air from swirling randomly in the wheel arch, we have developed an extension to the air duct, which can be fitted with minimal effort and guides the air around the wheel and connects it to the outlet via a hose.

In many vehicles, brake cooling is already recommended for medium loads, even off the racetrack. This not only improves braking performance, but also drastically reduces wear on the friction partners. Our anchor plate uses the channeling of the air flow to the center of the brake disc to utilize the turbine effect to cool the disc from the inside. In doing so, we direct the airflow at the disc at a defined angle in order to avoid scattering losses and make maximum efficient use of the available air volume. Thanks to the lightweight design in combination with powder-coated aluminum, the armature plate is sufficiently strong and at the same time light and robust. In addition, the bearings closest to the brake disk are shielded from the heat in order to increase their service life (if necessary).

IMPORTANT: The different models vary slightly in wheel position, coupled with different suspension geometries and wheel and tire combinations, it will be impossible for us to cover all variants. In the worst case scenario, the wheel could rest slightly on the ground at full steering lock (which should only be the case when parking), which may not cause any damage to the tire. In this case, we would ask you to refrain from the last ¼ of the steering turns.

The inlets can be supplied in a gray color, different from the illustration.
