Universal hood vent for the hood

The universal solution for most vehicles!

In addition to the racing look, this component has very important functions:

1. Reducing the temperature in the engine compartment.
2. Lowering the lift on the front axle.

Re 2: The air flows through the radiator and collects in the engine compartment. This creates excess pressure, which pushes in all directions and thus also upwards and relieves the front axle via the hood to generate lift. Furthermore, the air usually escapes via the partially open underbody of the vehicle and thus generally provides lift.

The air vents allow the air to escape via the hood and thus reduce the overpressure in the engine compartment. We tested this in daily operation and on the racetrack:

Our vehicles were fitted with temperature sensors at several points in the engine compartment:

Measurement runs were then carried out and the results are reflected in the following diagram:

The orange curve describes the system with venting and the blue curve without venting. Now the results seem confusing at first, as the temperature seems to be higher without venting. But that is exactly the result we wanted to see:

The sensors were positioned in the upper area of the engine compartment and you can see that the air now does not take the path via the underbody, but rather past the sensors at the top to the ventilation system so that it flows over the vehicle. Bull’s eye!

The outlets have a golf ball structure and thus optimize the outlet air flow.
