Air duct inlet

In order to transport the air to the outlet of the brake ventilation system, a suitable inlet is essential. The M2 Competition already has factory-fitted inlet ducts in the front bumper, but these end in the middle of the wheel arch. To prevent the air from swirling randomly in the wheel arch, we have developed an extension to the air duct that can be fitted with minimal effort and guides the air around the wheel and connects it to the outlet via a hose.

In many vehicles (such as the F80/F82), brake cooling is recommended even for medium loads, even off the racetrack. This not only improves braking performance, but also drastically reduces wear on the friction partners. Our armature plate uses the channeling of the air flow to the center of the brake disc to utilize the turbine effect to cool the disc from the inside. In doing so, we direct the air at the pane at a defined angle in order to avoid scattering losses and make maximum efficient use of the available air volume. Thanks to the lightweight construction in combination with powder-coated aluminum, the anchor plate is sufficiently strong and at the same time light and robust. In addition, the bearings closest to the brake disk are shielded from the heat in order to increase their service life (if necessary).

IMPORTANT: The different models vary slightly in wheel position, coupled with different chassis geometries and wheel and tire combinations, it is impossible for us to cover all variants. In the worst case scenario, the wheel could come to rest slightly on the ground at full steering lock (which should only be the case when parking), which cannot lead to any damage to the tire. In this case, we would ask you to dispense with the last ¼ of the steering turns.
